A Northern California Land Trust

The Van Duzen River Foundation is a California non-profit public benefit corporation dedicated to preserving the rural character of the Van Duzen River watershed.

Our primary purpose is to provide a means by which private landowners may restrict future sub-division of their land and ensure that the land be used for timber production, agriculture, ranching, or natural spaces. Landowners may provide for the preservation of river and stream resources, natural scenery, forest, wildlife, and local historical sites.

This land trust uses a variety of methods including easements, ownership in fee, and other transfers of land interests. These interests are held in perpetuity.

It is pleasant to have been to a place the way a river went. ~ Henry David Thoreau
